Latvian Music Information Centre

LMIC has been building connections with partners in Europe and across continents since 2002, shaping joint projects, imagining our common future and investing in new generations. LMIC has actively informed worldwide media about new Latvian jazz, contemporary and world music and has released almost 200 Latvian contemporary music albums. We also maintain the largest music database in the country, publish sheet music and our goals are to popularise and promote Latvian music, to collate and disseminate information about it, within and outside Latvia, to coordinate Latvian music activities with all the organisations involved, to facilitate Latvia’s involvement in the international music scene, and to promote the performance and publishing of Latvian music. The Ministry of Culture has delegated its statutory function in music information to the Centre, and finances the Centre’s activities.
