Robert von Bahr first laureate of the Council of Nordic Composers

The very first prize of the Council of Nordic Composers goes to Robert von Bahr, CEO of the record company BIS. Mr von Bahr is the first recipient of the council's recently instituted prize for the advancement of contemporary Nordic classical, electro accoustic and art music.

New CEO of the Swedish MIC

On June 1, Stina Westerberg will take over as the new CEO of the Swedish Music Information Centre. She was most recently employed at the Vadstena Academy, where she was appointed CEO in December 2003.

Swedish music is being scanned for the future

Since 2003, The Swedish Music Information Centre's art music archive has been in the process of being scanned. There are circa 17,000 works, and each year about 300-500 new pieces are deposited. 10, 000 works of music have been scanned, and about 300 new works are scanned each month.
