Eve O’Kelly has announced her intention to resign as Director of the Contemporary Music Centre (CMC).

Some 800 people visited CMC on Culture Night recently.

With two interactive sound installations proving a special attraction, visitors streamed through the Centre from 6.00pm until midnight on 30 September 2009. These record numbers were a wonderful opportunity for CMC to show off the resources of the Centre, and many people expressed support for our work.

The Contemporary Music Centre presents two concerts of Irish works in London in October and November 2009.

The Contemporary Music Centre has published a feasibility study looking at ways to develop the recording of music in Ireland.

The report, Music Recording: Captured and Released, was commissioned as part of a strategic planning process which CMC has engaged in over the last two years, resulting in a new strategic plan for the organization for the years 2009-2011.

The Contemporary Music Centre celebrates the fifth anniversary of its Salon Series with a fresh line-up for Autumn 2008.

The series begins on Wednesday 15 October 2008 at 6.00pm with soprano Sylvia O'Brien accompanied on piano by Irish composer Seóirse Bodley. Once again the series is being held in the Goethe Institut, Dublin.

The Contemporary Music Centre's exhibition, The Art of Sound, travels to Liverpool as part of this year's European Capital of Culture programme.

CMC presented New Music - New Ireland, a concert of contemporary Irish music at the Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall, New York on 17 October.
